Uber Driver Shot Dead in Las Vegas Strip Road Rage Confrontation
A woman in her 20s is in custody following a fatal shooting of an Uber driver on the Las Vegas Strip during a road rage incident on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 4:04 p.m. when two vehicles—a grey Jeep Cherokee driven by the victim and a silver Subaru WRX—encountered each other during road construction on Las Vegas Boulevard.

At Las Vegas Boulevard and Palazzo Drive, near the Venetian Resort, the male Uber driver exited his vehicle and approached the Subaru, banging on the driver's side window. The female driver responded by shooting him in the neck. Though armed, the victim collapsed before he could return fire.
The shooter fled the scene but was later apprehended at her residence. Two passengers in her vehicle were unharmed. No charges have been filed yet against the shooter, and police are continuing their investigation.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Jason Johansson noted a concerning trend in road rage violence, stating, "We're starting to see an increase slightly in some of these road rage incident shootings." He urged drivers to remain patient, especially around construction zones.
In a separate incident approximately 45 minutes later, another shooting occurred at a McDonald's near the Strip. The victim died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center after a dispute with two suspects, who fled the scene. Police describe the suspects as two black men, one wearing black attire and the other in green.
The identity of the Uber driver, described as a man in his 50s, has not been released pending autopsy results.
