The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians will open Crystal Sky Travel Plaza, a $25 million gaming and fuel facility, on December 19 at 11 am in Louisville, Winston County. The facility combines traditional travel plaza amenities with casino gaming.

The 18,000-square-foot facility features:

  • 150 slot machines
  • Sports betting lounge
  • Restaurant
  • 3,000 square feet of retail space
  • Fueling stations for commercial and passenger vehicles
  • 24/7 operation

Built on off-reservation trust land, Crystal Sky operates under the tribe's Class III gaming compact with Mississippi. The facility expands the Choctaws' gaming presence, which already includes three casinos: Silver Star and Golden Moon at Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia, and Bok Homa Casino in Heidelberg.

Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben emphasized the project's significance beyond gaming, noting its role in supporting the Louisville and Winston County community while honoring tribal heritage. The name "Crystal Sky" was chosen through a tribal member contest, reflecting the nearby Crystal Ridge tribal community.

The travel plaza represents a growing trend among gaming tribes to combine travel services with casino operations, similar to Florida's Miccosukee Tribe's Little Trail Casino. Located along S. Church Ave. at Railroad Ave in Louisville, Crystal Sky will serve both local residents and travelers in the region, situated about 80 miles northeast of Jackson, Mississippi.
