LA County Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone confirmed that all 29 fire departments in the county have reached maximum capacity, with no additional personnel or equipment available. The mutual aid request extends to multiple California counties, including Orange, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo.

Four major fires continue to burn across the region:

  • Pacific Palisades Fire: Over 5,000 acres burned with no containment, destroying an estimated 1,000 structures. The fire rapidly spread from 200 to 3,000 acres within hours, forcing evacuations in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Calabasas.

  • Eton Fire: Exceeding 2,000 acres with no containment, claimed two civilian lives and destroyed over 100 structures.

  • Woodley Fire: Currently uncontained

  • Tyler Fire: 50% contained as of Wednesday

The situation is further complicated by:

  • Wind gusts up to 60 mph expected through Thursday
  • Water pressure issues in affected areas
  • Power outages affecting 250,000 customers
  • 13,000 structures at risk
  • Reports of looting in evacuated areas

Multiple injuries have been reported among both residents who failed to evacuate and first responders battling the blazes. Local authorities continue to prioritize saving lives and protecting property while managing stretched emergency services.
