The TGL, a tech-infused indoor golf simulator league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, debuts tonight at 9 p.m. EST on ESPN from the SoFi Center in Florida. This innovative league combines traditional golf with modern technology, featuring six teams competing in a round-robin format.

Tonight's inaugural match pits the New York Golf Club (Schauffele, Fitzpatrick, Fowler) against The Bay Golf Club (Aberg, Clark, Lowry). The league features prominent players including Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, Keegan Bradley, and Collin Morikawa.

The TGL's unique format includes:

  • 15-hole matches split between Triples (9 holes) and Singles (6 holes)
  • Two-hour match duration
  • Players mic'd up throughout
  • Five-story-high simulator screen
  • Real grass fairways and Augusta National-grade sand
  • Adjustable putting green for different virtual holes
  • 1,500-seat capacity arena

Notable investors include Shohei Ohtani, Lewis Hamilton, and Josh Allen, while team owners feature Steve Cohen and Arthur Blank.

Betting markets remain relatively quiet ahead of the debut. DraftKings offers New York Golf Club at -125 and Bay Golf Club at +100. Traders expect betting interest to increase once awareness grows, particularly during Tiger Woods' appearances, which historically boost betting handle 4-5 times.

The league runs through March, with playoffs starting March 17-18 and championship series March 24-25. The format aims to attract younger audiences to golf while offering a fresh take on the traditional sport.
