As part of a $340 million renovation project, the property has completed its first phase of improvements, including:

  • Complete redesign of 1,500 guestrooms in the Ipanema Tower
  • New Canteen Food Hall with six dining options
  • 220,000 square feet of renovated convention space
  • Upgraded pool complex
  • 500 new slot machines and 30 new table games

The second phase will focus on renovating the Masquerade Tower and upgrading public spaces. The resort maintains its Rio de Janeiro-inspired theme with vibrant colors and bold designs.

To celebrate joining the Destination by Hyatt portfolio, Rio is offering:

  • 50% off room rates for stays of two nights or longer through April 20, 2025
  • Waived $50 nightly resort fee on free night awards for World of Hyatt members
  • Automatic resort fee waiver for Globalist tier members (requires 60 nights or 100K points annually)

The property was purchased by Dreamscape Companies in December 2019 for $516.3 million, with the goal of creating an affordable yet luxurious experience for guests. World of Hyatt members can now earn and redeem points at this newly renovated Las Vegas destination.
