Rio Las Vegas Joins Hyatt Portfolio, Launches Major Room Sale After $340M Renovation
The Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has officially joined the World of Hyatt loyalty program, marking a significant transformation for the off-Strip resort. This partnership follows Hyatt's ended relationship with MGM Resorts last year.

As part of a $340 million renovation project, the property has completed its first phase of improvements, including:
- Complete redesign of 1,500 guestrooms in the Ipanema Tower
- New Canteen Food Hall with six dining options
- 220,000 square feet of renovated convention space
- Upgraded pool complex
- 500 new slot machines and 30 new table games
The second phase will focus on renovating the Masquerade Tower and upgrading public spaces. The resort maintains its Rio de Janeiro-inspired theme with vibrant colors and bold designs.
To celebrate joining the Destination by Hyatt portfolio, Rio is offering:
- 50% off room rates for stays of two nights or longer through April 20, 2025
- Waived $50 nightly resort fee on free night awards for World of Hyatt members
- Automatic resort fee waiver for Globalist tier members (requires 60 nights or 100K points annually)
The property was purchased by Dreamscape Companies in December 2019 for $516.3 million, with the goal of creating an affordable yet luxurious experience for guests. World of Hyatt members can now earn and redeem points at this newly renovated Las Vegas destination.
