While table games experienced a 9% decline, slot machine revenue grew by 4%, helping maintain overall stability. This performance contrasts with Atlantic City's 8.5% decline in in-person gaming during the same period.
Sports betting experienced significant challenges with a 43% drop in hold, largely due to successful bets on Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers games. Online poker and fantasy sports also declined, with revenues of $2.2 million (-6%) and $2.21 million (-21%) respectively.
iGaming continued its strong growth trajectory, with online slots generating $140.8 million and table games adding $46 million, totaling $186.8 million - a 22.5% increase from October 2023. Penn Entertainment led the market with $69.4 million in revenue, followed by Boyd Gaming's Valley Forge Casino Resort ($51.9 million) and Rivers Casino ($33.2 million).
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board issued fines to two VGT operators: $37,500 to a TA Travel Center and $32,500 to Love's Travel Stops, both in Harrisburg, for operating without board-credentialed employees on site.
The Board also added 17 people to its Involuntary Exclusion Lists, including:
- 5 individuals for leaving children unattended in vehicles while gambling
- 4 people for iGaming fraud
- 8 others for various gaming-related offenses
One notable case involved a patron leaving an infant in a vehicle during 91-degree weather while placing a sports bet at Hollywood Casino Morgantown.
