Prosecutors revealed Sararat lost 78 million Bhat (US$2.3 million) gambling on Fun88, an illegal online platform, sometimes wagering up to 10 million Bhat (US$290K) daily. She allegedly funded her addiction by borrowing money from victims before poisoning them and stealing their valuables.

The investigation began in April 2023 when Siriporn collapsed and died during a Buddhist ritual in Ratchaburi province. Sararat's suspicious behavior, fleeing the scene instead of helping, led to her arrest. Police found cyanide at her residence and discovered traces of the poison in Siriporn's body.

Among her alleged victims are an ex-boyfriend and three female police officers. Cyanide, which kills by oxygen deprivation, can cause death within 30 minutes and is difficult to detect due to its quick dissipation from the body.

Sararat's husband, a former high-ranking police officer, received 16 months in prison for evidence tampering, while her lawyer was sentenced to two years for the same offense. Despite the evidence, Sararat maintains her innocence in all charges.

Siriporn's mother, Thongpin, endorsed the death sentence, noting that Sararat smiled during the verdict reading, stating, "She got bad karma back, and I wish all the bad karma will keep following her."
