After their Super Bowl appearance, the Cincinnati Bengals focused on strengthening their offensive line by signing La'el Collins, Alex Cappa, and Ted Karras. However, there are still three key free agents they should consider adding before the NFL Draft:

  1. CB Joe Haden
  • Would provide veteran leadership in the secondary
  • 12 seasons of AFC North experience
  • Could compete with or replace Eli Apple as starter
  • Still capable of starting despite being 33 years old
  1. DL Sheldon Richardson
  • Would add depth behind B.J. Hill and D.J. Reader
  • Recorded 13 QB hits and 2.5 sacks in 2021
  • Extremely durable - hasn't missed a game in 4 years
  • Could potentially start over Reader
  • Valuable rotation piece at minimum
  1. OG Ereck Flowers
  • Would compete with/upgrade over Jackson Carman
  • Successfully transitioned from tackle to guard
  • Started 46 of 49 possible games since 2019
  • Provides veteran stability on offensive line
  • Would give Bengals five proven O-line veterans

The Bengals still have cap space available and these veterans could help shore up remaining weak spots as they look to make another Super Bowl run. Their focus should be on adding experienced depth while maintaining flexibility for the draft.
