Nick Chubb's recent endorsement of Kareem Hunt highlights the importance of keeping the running back duo together in Cleveland. "He's my best friend, on and off the field," Chubb stated, emphasizing his desire for Hunt to remain with the Browns.

Hunt, who recently requested a trade after being fined for not participating in team drills, is seeking a contract renewal following his two-year deal signed last offseason. At 27 years old, the Willoughby South High School alum still shows promise, averaging nearly five yards per attempt in eight games last season.

Despite the Browns drafting Jerome Ford and retaining D'Ernest Johnson, Hunt's value to the team remains significant. His limited mileage due to suspensions, injury precautions, and sharing carries with Chubb suggests he still has plenty to offer.

Trading Hunt would likely only yield mid-round picks, providing minimal value for a player of his caliber. The most practical solution would be offering Hunt an immediate pay raise using the Browns' available cap space for this season.

With uncertainty surrounding the Browns' offense, maintaining their talented backfield duo should be a priority. Recent player departures, including the mishandled situations with Odell Beckham Jr. and Baker Mayfield, demonstrate the importance of properly managing valuable assets.
