The property joins the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy, expanding the strategic partnership between the two hospitality giants. The W Las Vegas becomes part of a portfolio that includes twelve MGM Strip properties, including Aria, Bellagio, and the Cosmopolitan.
As part of the transformation, the property will undergo several updates:
- Room renovations
- Delano Beach Club becomes W Wet Deck
- Skyfall rooftop lounge gets refreshed while keeping its name
- Maintains its non-gaming hotel status
The W brand, known for its luxury appeal and popularity among younger travelers, aligns with MGM's strategy to attract new demographics while maintaining high-end hospitality standards.
Mandalay Bay COO Travis Lunn emphasized the significance of bringing the globally celebrated W Hotels brand to the Strip, noting that the property will develop its distinct personality through dynamic programming and elevated service culture over the next couple of years.
This change coincides with other MGM developments, including the rebranding of NoMad at Park MGM, following Hilton's acquisition of a majority stake in Sydell Group. These modifications reflect the ongoing evolution of Las Vegas' hospitality landscape, as operators invest in maintaining competitive advantages in the market.
