UFC Fighter Chris Weidman Chokes Friend Unconscious to Clear $5,000 Poker Debt
Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman settled a $5,000 poker debt in an unusual way - by choking out his friend until unconscious, as shown in a recent Instagram video.

Two fighters in UFC chokehold
In the video, Weidman applied a chokehold to his unnamed friend, who had agreed to this alternative form of debt settlement. After losing consciousness briefly, the friend recovered, and both parties appeared to treat the incident as humorous.
The incident drew mixed reactions on social media, with some commenters referencing Weidman's recent loss to Eryk Anders at UFC 310 in Las Vegas. The 40-year-old fighter, who holds a 16-8 record in the octagon, has previously shown interest in poker, having promoted the World Series of Poker free-to-play app in 2022.
Following Weidman's recent defeat at UFC 310, UFC CEO Dana White suggested that Weidman, along with Anthony Smith (36) and Clay Guida (43), should consider retirement. Weidman has not yet commented on his loss or potential retirement plans.
