The Tampa Bay Rays are hiring a Research and Development Intern to join their Baseball Operations team. This position is ideal for analytical thinkers who can conduct independent research while collaborating with team members.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct statistical modeling and quantitative analysis for player evaluation and development
  • Communicate research findings effectively to Baseball Operations staff
  • Design actionable research projects
  • Support department members with technical expertise
  • Collect and analyze in-game data
  • Perform ad hoc baseball operations analysis

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong background in mathematics, physics, statistics, computer science, or engineering
  • Advanced computational abilities
  • Problem-solving experience
  • Creative research approach
  • Programming knowledge (R, Python, and/or Stan preferred)
