Princess Cruises Unveils Largest-Ever Casino on New $1B Sun Princess Ship
Princess Cruises is set to unveil its largest-ever casino aboard the new $1 billion Sun Princess cruise ship, launching in February 2024. Currently under construction at Italy's Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, the ship promises an enhanced gaming experience for passengers.

The new Princess Casino will feature:
- 9,000 square feet of gaming space
- 227 slot machines
- 13 live dealer table games
- High-limit slot area with premium seating
- Exclusive Buffalo Zone featuring Buffalo-branded slots
- New version of The Love Boat themed slot machine
- Linked progressive jackpots for blackjacks, poker, and slots
Located on deck eight adjacent to the Piazza (the ship's central atrium), the casino offers 50% more floor space and 30% more gaming positions compared to Princess Cruises' Royal Class ships. Gaming operations begin once the ship reaches international waters, 24 nautical miles off the U.S. coast.
The Sun Princess specifications include:
- 175,500 tons
- 21 decks
- 2,150 guest cabins
- 1,133 feet in length
- Features include a ropes course, splash pad, and Sea Breeze Rollglider
The ship will initially cruise the Mediterranean, Europe, and the Caribbean. All casino operations are regulated by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), following standards based on Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations.
