Pizza Hut faced significant backlash in the UK for promoting free online casino spins with food deliveries. The controversy emerged when customers received promotional messages offering up to 300 free spins through Free Spins Loops, an online casino promotions company.

The issue came to light when recovering gambling addict Ben Jones (@ExGambler4Life) exposed the promotion on X. Jones, who served three years in prison for embezzling £370,000 due to gambling addiction, highlighted that the promotion lacked age verification or problem gambling screening.

The promotion resulted from a partnership between Pizza Hut and Digital Adventures, the owner of Free Spins Loops. According to Digital Adventures, the promotion was quickly removed on November 28, following public criticism.

Former Conservative Party chairman Iain Duncan Smith MP condemned the promotion, calling it evidence of "out of control gambling advertising." As chair of a cross-party parliamentary group on gambling harm, he advocated for stricter regulations on gambling advertisements.

Similar promotions have appeared in the US, where Pizza Hut customers reported receiving unsolicited gambling offers from BetMGM and FanDuel, including promotions for first-bet offers up to $1,000.

The controversy highlights growing concerns about the intersection of food delivery services and gambling promotions, particularly regarding responsible gambling practices and consumer protection.
