Football Rule Changes:

  • Injury Timeouts: Teams will be charged a timeout for injury stops. If out of timeouts, a five-yard penalty applies. After two-minute warnings, a 10-second runoff will be implemented for teams without timeouts.

  • Player Count Violations: After two-minute timeouts, defensive fouls with 12+ players participating will result in a 5-yard penalty. Offense can opt to reset game clock.

  • Disconcerting Signals: New regulations against defensive actions meant to confuse offensive teams.

  • Uniform Standards: Stricter compliance requirements for safety and uniformity.

Basketball Rule Changes:

  • Conduct Policy: Immediate removal and one-game suspension for any physical contact or threats toward officials.

  • Exhibition Games: Teams can now play up to two preseason exhibition games against any school, including Division I opponents, with flexible revenue allocation.

  • Replay Technology: Mandatory immediate reviews for baskets scored during potential off-ball fouls.
