The NBA and Sands China have partnered to bring NBA preseason games to Macau in 2025, marking a significant return to the Chinese market after a five-year absence.

The Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns will face off in two exhibition games at the Venetian Arena on October 10 and 12, 2025. The games will feature notable stars including Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant, pending any roster changes.

This partnership carries additional significance as Dr. Miriam Adelson, the largest individual shareholder of Las Vegas Sands (Sands China's parent company), and her son-in-law Patrick Dumont own the Dallas Mavericks.

The return to China follows a controversial period that began in 2019 when then-Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey's pro-Hong Kong protest tweet led to Chinese broadcasting restrictions, potentially costing the NBA up to $400 million in annual revenue.

To enhance the fan experience, an NBA Flagship Store will open at The Londoner Macau, offering authentic NBA merchandise and customizable products. This strategic move aims to capitalize on the NBA's massive popularity among Chinese fans while establishing Macau as an emerging sports hub in Asia.

NBA Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum emphasized that these games will showcase the league's excitement to fans in one of the world's emerging sports markets, marking a new chapter in the NBA's presence in Asia.
