Law enforcement apprehended a murder suspect at Sky River Casino in Elk Grove, California, on Thursday. Nathanuel McCowan, 49, of Oakland, is charged with the murder of his wife Laketha McCowan in February 2023.

The fatal shooting occurred on February 26, 2023, at the Edwards Avenue ramp off Interstate 580 in Oakland, where the victim was found deceased from a gunshot wound. The arrest was executed without incident following a multi-department investigation.
