The manifesto contained claims about Chinese drone activities on the East Coast and allegations of being followed by federal agents. Livelsberger also claimed knowledge of U.S. war crimes against civilians.

Las Vegas police confirmed Livelsberger died by suicide in a Tesla Cybertruck, shooting himself before detonating explosives. Seven bystanders suffered minor injuries. The FBI stated Livelsberger likely suffered from PTSD and acted alone, with no connections to terrorist organizations.

In notes released by police, Livelsberger wrote that his action was "not a terrorist attack" but "a wake up call," citing concerns about American leadership and social decline.

Livelsberger served 20 years in the Army, including time with the Green Berets. His military career included deployments to Afghanistan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Georgia, and Congo. He received two Bronze Stars, a combat infantry badge, and an Army Commendation Medal with valor.

His uncle, Dean Livelsberger, described him as "100% a patriot" and noted that Matthew possessed extensive knowledge of explosives but chose not to create a more devastating device, suggesting he didn't intend mass casualties.
