The Louisiana State Police (LSP) investigation revealed that Scott, previously incarcerated at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center, conducted over 30,000 gambling-related transactions using smuggled contraband. He now faces charges of gambling and unlawfully establishing accounts on social networking websites while imprisoned.

The investigation, which began in 2023, initially focused on contraband smuggling across Louisiana prisons before zeroing in on Scott's operation. He has since been transferred to Iberville Parish Jail.

Law enforcement officials warn that using third-party payment apps like Cash App to send money to inmates is illegal. The only legitimate method for sending funds to inmates is through approved channels like JPay or other methods listed on the Louisiana Department of Corrections website.

The LSP emphasized their commitment to maintaining prison security and investigating illegal activities within correctional facilities, stating that offenders will be held accountable for their actions. The exact amount of money involved in the gambling operation has not been disclosed.
