Las Vegas Murder Wave: Multiple Homicides Shock Region, Including 3 Teen Suspects
Several recent murders have plagued the Las Vegas region, keeping Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) homicide detectives extremely busy.

A domestic violence incident turned fatal when Adrian Rodriguez-Guillen, 41, allegedly shot his ex-wife and her girlfriend on Friday at approximately 4:45 p.m. near Blanton and Sacks drives. The girlfriend died at the scene, while the ex-wife was hospitalized at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and is expected to recover. Rodriguez-Guillen remained at the scene, called police, and was charged with open murder and attempted murder.
Three separate cases involved minor suspects:
- Arnaz Jones, 16, was arrested for the murder of Correy Dennis, 33, who was fatally shot in a North Las Vegas apartment on East Centennial Parkway
- A 12-year-old girl was charged with open murder for allegedly stabbing her father, James Waldie, 55, who had been battling stage four cancer
- A 15-year-old boy was charged with murder after allegedly shooting his father, Jeremy Peterson, 45, following a family argument at their Tampa Court residence
Additionally, an unidentified man was fatally shot near train tracks at West Owens Avenue and Stocker Street. The shooter remains at large.
The LVMPD is also investigating the New Year's Day explosion at Trump International Hotel, where the suspect died by suicide and seven others suffered minor injuries.
These incidents represent a concerning surge in violent crime across the Las Vegas region, with investigations ongoing in several cases.
