
Las Vegas Judge Attacker Gets 26-65 Years in Prison After Violent Court Assault
A Las Vegas attacker who assaulted Judge Mary Kay Holthus faces 26-65 years in prison after pleading "guilty but mentally ill" to attempted murder and five other charges. Deobra Redden, 31, jumped over the court bench on January 3 when the judge announced his prison sentence for a prior attempted battery charge.

The charges include battery of a protected person age 60 or older, intimidating a public officer, and battery by a prisoner. Redden's attorney, Carl Arnold, revealed his client had failed to take schizophrenia medication on the day of the attack. Judge Susan Johnson delivered the final sentencing.
In other Las Vegas crime news, Ryan Heider faces trial for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a woman at a Downtown Las Vegas motel on November 22. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries to her back and stomach. Heider was arrested at a Sahara Avenue car dealership parking lot.
Additionally, LVMPD Officer Colton Pulsipher, 29, was killed in a wrong-way collision on I-15 near Valley of Fire State Park. The off-duty officer was driving his personal vehicle when the crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. The incident resulted in two fatalities and one injury.
