Formula 1's Las Vegas Grand Prix attendance figures for 2024 show a significant discrepancy compared to last year's reported numbers, raising questions about either the event's declining popularity or the accuracy of previous attendance claims.

According to F1's Clark County permit application, the 2024 race expects 102,000 spectators across five days (November 20-24). This contrasts sharply with the reported 315,000 attendees over three days in 2023.

LVGP CEO Renee Wilm has acknowledged lower ticket revenues, with prices significantly reduced to meet demand. The West Harmon Grandstand three-day package dropped from $1,200 to $672, while VIP packages decreased from $2,000 to $1,600.

Economic Impact Analysis:

  • Liberty Media claimed $1.7 billion positive impact in 2023
  • Benefits primarily reached MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, Wynn Resorts, and Venetian
  • Other Strip businesses and downtown venues reported negative impacts
  • Clark County lost $463,000 despite $3.8 million in tax revenue due to $4.4 million in staff expenses

With F1's three-year agreement with Clark County, speculation grows about 2025 potentially being the final year for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, particularly given the declining attendance and mixed economic impact on the city.
