Henderson Teen's Death: Police Officer's Stolen Gun Led to Tragic End
A Henderson, Nevada teen's tragic death has brought new details to light about her final days. Jennaleah "Jenna" Hin, 17, disappeared on December 30 following an argument with her mother and stepfather over a boyfriend.

According to her biological father, Hina Hin, Jenna took her stepfather's Glock 43 handgun before leaving home. Her stepfather, Corey Swanson, is a North Las Vegas police officer.
After leaving what appeared to be a suicide note, extensive searches were conducted by family members, community volunteers, police, and Nevada's Red Rock Search and Rescue team. On Sunday, a hiker discovered her body. The Clark County coroner's office confirmed she died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the neck and head.
"I felt her presence at the location... it feels like a nightmare that I just want to wake up from," Hina Hin told KLAS news.
Jenna was an A-student at Foothill High School in Henderson. Her father described her as "a loving soul who simply wanted to be loved" with "the potential to live a beautiful, long and happy life."
A candlelight vigil is scheduled for Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Spanish Needle Street and Desert Sunflower Circle in Henderson. Attendees are encouraged to bring candles and white, blue, or gold balloons – the colors of Foothill High School.
A GoFundMe page has been established to help the family with funeral costs, with a goal of $13,000. As of Thursday, $5,887 had been raised.
