A Florida casino visitor faces child neglect charges after abandoning her infant in a soiled diaper at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood's entrance on Christmas Eve.

Rubi C. Verduzco, 29, from Bethany, Oklahoma, was arrested after three unidentified men left her child in a stroller at the casino's Old Main Entrance bell desk. A casino employee discovered the abandoned infant and alerted Seminole Police.

When Verduzco returned approximately 45 minutes later, officers noted she appeared intoxicated, displaying bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and the smell of alcohol. She was unable to provide basic information about her child, including the infant's birthdate or explain the circumstances of leaving the baby unattended.

The child's father, contacted by police, initially claimed to be in Oklahoma, then Orlando, but suggested the infant be placed in state custody and recommended Verduzco's arrest. The Florida Department of Children and Families has taken custody of the child.

Verduzco was booked into Broward County's Main Jail with bail set at $2,500. She was later released, and the case has been transferred to local prosecutors for further action.
