Chippendales Dancers File Labor Complaint Over Union Retaliation
The Chippendales dancers have filed an unfair labor practices complaint with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) after joining the Actors' Equity Association in October 2024.

The complaint alleges that Chippendales Entertainment, LLC engaged in union-busting tactics and retaliation, including forcing all dancers to reaudition for their positions. Performers known to support unionization were reportedly dismissed during this process.
Actors' Equity Association president Brooke Shields condemned these actions as illegal and called for immediate reinstatement of discharged dancers. The union represents over 51,000 professional actors and stage managers nationwide.
Key developments include:
- NLRB complaint filed with Region 28 office
- Request for injunction to reinstate dismissed dancers
- Union recognition demand as bargaining representative
- Claims of significantly lower wages compared to other Las Vegas performers
The iconic show is relocating from its 20-year home at Rio Hotel & Casino to the Mat Franco Theater at The Linq starting January 14. Performances run Tuesday through Sunday, with double shows on Fridays and Saturdays.
Chippendales Entertainment has reportedly refused to voluntarily recognize the union despite the dancers' decision to organize. The 2025 tour is scheduled to run from March through November, while the labor dispute continues.
Shields emphasized the need for public support of the performers, calling for "world-class" wages and benefits fitting their status as premier entertainers.
