AREA15 in Las Vegas is expanding its entertainment offerings with several new attractions and a major development plan called "District 2."

Newly opened at the entertainment hub is Superplastic's Dopeameme Institute for Pleasure Research, a 30-minute immersive adventure featuring the viral TikTok characters Janky and Guggimon. The $35 attraction combines art and technology in a series of connected rooms designed to trigger dopamine releases through high-tech visuals and interactive challenges.

Coming in 2025 is Interstellar Arc, a 20,000 square-foot spaceflight simulator offering a "26th-century deep space mission" experience. Created by Emmy-winning Felix & Paul Studios, this attraction recently broke ground and is expected to feature virtual reality elements similar to their previous successful Space Explorers project.

Additional attractions planned for District 2 include:

  • The John Wick Experience (opening 2024)
  • Universal Horror Unleashed, a 110,000 square-foot permanent horror experience (opening 2024)
  • A "psychedelic carousel" drop ride

AREA15's long-term development plans through 2037 include:

  • 585 multifamily housing units
  • 418,000 square feet of retail and dining
  • 320,000 square feet of office space
  • 200 hotel rooms

The complex has been designated as the world's first immersive tourism district by the Las Vegas City Council and is projected to attract 3.5 million annual visitors with $796 million in yearly on-site spending, though recent marketplace conditions have led to some organizational restructuring.
